"Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow"
-Robert Kiyosaki
This quote means that what you do today will create your future. For example if you do something bad today in school then the next day you wont be in school so you have to live on your present not your future.

It
is a proven technique to sharpen your study skills.
In
college, you’ll be required to do lots of reading. You’ll often have to
complete reading assignments in several different books for several different
courses at the same time.
SQ3R
helps make reading and studying purposeful and effective, so that you use your
time most efficiently. Here’s how this strategy works.

5 Tips for Success
Tips 3-4
Tip 3: Do Research
Literary critics have written vast numbers of analytically and
critical pieces on countless books. If you’re having trouble understanding a
particular text, do some research and see what knowledgeable sources have to
say about it. In additional to increasing your comprehension, you’ll also be
showing initiative, something teachers always like to see. Always use
legitimate and scholarly sources, not condensed study guides. Going the extra
mile in your research elevates your achievements 10-fold.
Tip 4: Use a Dictionary
Make sure you have access to a dictionary when you’re
reading. You can often figure out the meaning of an unfamiliar word by using
context clues, but sometimes you can’t. Rather than simply skipping over the
words you don’t know, take the time to look them up. The results are well worth
the effort. Your comprehension will increase greatly; you’ll build your
vocabulary at the same time.

The Three Don's
Don't whine, don't complain, don't make excuses
John Wooden
This quote from John Wooden means that if you are told to do something by a teacher or parent of an adult you should talk back or complain or whine you should just do it and don't make excuses if you didn't do your work then there will be no excuse you just did not do it.
5 Tips for Staying
Motivated
Tips 3-5
3. Set Attainable Goals
If you’re
having trouble writing a 25-page paper for class because it seems like such a
big job, don’t focus on that final number. Break the paper down and consider
each section of your paper individually. You can handle any project in small
chunks.
4. Find a Social Support Network
Create a group of people around you who want to help you
succeed. Mentors can be teachers or family friends who can give you guidance
and help you develop new skills. Counselors can help you with planning your
courses and starting to explore colleges. You can also reach out to friends and
peers who can motivate you by listening and sharing ideas.
5. Acknowledge Your Accomplishments
Give yourself a
quick reward when you complete an assignment. take a walk, send an email, get a snack. then move on to the next project.

" The Three Nevers"
Never lie,Never Steal, Never Cheat
John Wooden
This quote by John Wooden means that you should never steal even if you really want something or not you shouldn't take other peoples stuff. the second one is you should never lie, because you will eventually get caught and get in bigger trouble but even if you don't get caught you shouldn't lie. the third one is you should never cheat because you wouldn't want to be known as one.
5 Tips for Staying
Motivated
Tips 1-2
To succeed in High School and college you have to do your
best at all times but sometimes it’s hard to stay motivated even you really
care for your work. Here are some ways to stay on the right track.
1.
Focus in high impact activities
The key in school is staying focused on your courses work. Make
a list to get an overall picture of your workload before you start to tackle
any of it then make a plan. Although its tempting to do the simplest assignments
first, those that take more time and effort to accomplish are probably the ones
to that you’ll learn the most from.
To determine what your
precise portieres are rank your assignment in order of their importance, then rearrange
your time and devote more energy towards those who have the greatest impact on your
course work and grades. For example, even though all homework assignments are
important studying for midterm exam takes time.
2.
Create new challenge
Changing your approach can help you stay interested in what you’re
doing. If you’ve been given an assignment similar to one you’ve done in the
past, think about it in a different way. If you wrote an essay for a creative writing
assignments last year, try a poem this time. For book reports pick a history
book instead of another biography.

" You have only always to do what is right it will become easier by practice and you will enjoy in the midst of your trials pleasure of an approving conscience"
Robert E. Lee
This quote means when you do is right it becomes easier in life. Like in high school if you do what you have to do in the beginning then it will easier for you because you wont get behind so you should just be on task.
Take Control of Homework
Part 3
If you have a study period or a long bus ride use the time to
review notes prepares the upcoming class or start the homework. Flashcards are
a great learning tool. They are easy to handle and are marvelous tool to help
you learn and remember things punch a hole in the upper left corner and connect
the stack of flashcards with a ring. Flashcards like this act like a small
book. WHATEVER YOU WANT TO REMEMBER PUT IT ON FLASHCARDS.
STUDY WITH FRIENDS
Get together with friends and classmates and quiz each other,
compare notes and predict test questions. Consider joining a study group.
COMMUNICATE
If you have concerns about the amount of homework you have
you may want to talk to your family or counselor. They can help you understand how much time you need to manage your tasks
and homework.
CELEBRATE YOUR
ACHIEVEMENTS
Reward yourself for hitting milestone or doing well in
something

"be always sure you're right then go ahead"
Davy Crockett
this quote means that you should always think before you do something think if it is the right thing to do or the wrong thing to do. because if it is the wrong thing to do then you might not want to do it after all. and if it is the right thing then you should keep on doing it. example if your copying someones homework then you shouldn't and you should stop and think about it because it is choosing the wrong.
Take Control of
Homework
So it Doesn't Control
You.
PART 2
Keep things in Perspective
Know
how much weight each assignment or test carries, and use your time accordingly.
Don’t waste time, but be wise and smart. Doing the most important things first
is being wise and smart.
Get More Involved
Keep
your mind from wandering by taking notes, underlining sections, discussing topics
with others or relating your homework to something you’re studying in another
class. Learn actively ad not passively. Be anxiously engaged in your studies
and you will have a great experience. Demonstrate a good attitude toward home
assignments, and you will begin loving it.
Organize
the Information
People process information
in different ways. Some people like to draw pictures or charts to digest
information, others prefer to read out loud or make detailed outlines. Try to
find the methods that work best for you. Ask your teacher for recommendations if
you’re having trouble.

methods.
Start by using the man

space on the left side of the page and the bottom. Things to keep in mind:
1. Get the
speakers man points. Don’t write down every word you hear.
2. Leave
blanks in your notes to add explanation later
3. Organize
as you write. Pay attention to cues such as repetition and emphasis.
4. Indicate

Emphasis on the Written Word
Most of the communication, as well as the course work, in the
distance learning class is written. That a plus, because the focus on the
written word gives you the opportunity to develop as a writer – and strong
writing skills essential to academic success. However, if writing a serious
weakness for you, virtual learning may not be the best educational option until
you improve your skills. Yes, most of distance education is written word;
therefore, you need to be a good reader, love to read, and love writing also. Most
of your assignments will be written and submitted to the instructor in the
written format. Your penmanship needs to be excellent, spelling great, sentence
structure, above average, vocabulary extraordinary. You need to have online
reliable equipment. If your internet communication at home isn’t working, you can’t
do online education from home and will need to go someplace where you do have
access to the internet.
Decide Whether It’s Right for You
Distance education isn’t for everyone, but it just might be
for you, you really should seek it out and give it a try. You never know until
you try. You might even fall in love with distance education. Write distance
education may be the perfect alternative for some students. It’s not that right
choice for everyone. So carefully consider your unique needs and interests and
give distance education a try; then decide if it is right for you.

" You must live in the present to secure your future"
Reverend Robert Craig
This quote means that you should pay attention your your present to get to your future, so if you are in high school right now you should be focused on high school not college so you can do good in high school, then when you get to college you know you made it and then you can focused on college. you shouldn't be focused on one or more things at one time.
Distance Education: Is a virtual Classroom for You?
Part 3
Challenging Aspects of Distance
Education
·
Lack
of in-person interaction: Some educators argue that both teacher student and
student-student contact are essential to learning. In a distance-learning
classroom, you may be able to participate in class discussions online in cha rooms,
message boards or web conferences—but it’s not the same as being other student
in a classroom.
·
Different
levels of quality: many different education programs supply an excellent learning
experience, but others may not. Research any program before signing on to make
sure it’s rigorous enough. If you are choosing your own program, look into its accreditation
before enrolling.
·
The
need to self-start: distance education lets you make your own schedule. If you
have hard time getting motivated, this might not be the ideal educational
setting for you.

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within to"
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I think this quote means that no matter how small the lie is or if you lie about something small it can become a big problem. so you should always say the truth.for example if you lie about going to school and you didn't end up going you went to ditch with your friends and your parents ask you if you went you said yes and they believe you for a while then they will obviously find out the truth and you will get more in trouble so it is always good to say the truth.
Distance Education: Is
a Virtual Classroom for You?
Positive
Aspects of Distance Education
· Independence and time management. Taking
courses online lets you hone your ability to work on your own time. You also
gain experience in managing your time efficiently.
· A flexible schedule schools can only
provide a certain number of class periods in a single school day, and there may
not be enough time for you to take everything you want. Because distance education
lets you take classes outside regular school hours, it gives you flexibility to
explode all your areas of interest.
· Advanced and specialized classes. Distance
education gives you the chance to gain experience in areas that would otherwise
remain out of reach.

Alex Schweitzer was a man on race walking in the Olympics he used steroids and cheated so he will win, what i learned is that you shouldn't cheat just so you can win you should just let it be if you win then you should be proud and if you don't win you shouldn't be ashamed because you lost you should just feel good about your self because at least you tried. but you should never cheat so you can win that is choosing the wrong.
Distance Education: Is a
Virtual Classroom for You?
Part 1
you may want to take a class that
your high school doesn’t offer. Under some circumstances, you can still enroll
in the class – through distance learning.
Distance education means taking a
class without being physically present, where is being taught. Internet-based
technology lets students participate in lectures and class sessions online from
almost everywhere.
Some high schools agree to recognize
distance-learning credits when they don’t have the resources to offer a course
themselves. Distance education is often used to increase options in rural areas
and for AP courses.
For you, it might mean doing
self-tutorial at home in the evening, or participating in a class that is 1,000
miles away, along with other high school student’s. Check with your school
counselor to see what’s available.

Additional
Tips
Although working
and going to school is challenging, it can be rewarding experience if you are
some foresight. These tips can help you handle the situation and make the most
of your time:
· Discuss your plans with your family.
Balancing the demands of school and work is easier with their support.
· Start slowly; don’t commit to working
a lot of hours immediately
· Avoid time conflicts by planning your
class and work schedule as far ahead of time as possible.
· Use your time efficiently. You can
use 10 minutes waiting in a line to go over a few pages of assigned reading. If
your job has a lot of downtime and your boss has no objection, you can use slow
periods to do school work.
· If you commute to your job on public transportation,
bring your schoolwork with you so you can work along the way.
· Be flexible and willing to make sacrifices.
You may have to cut down on some other things you’d like to do because of your
school and your work commitments.
· If you have too much on your plate,
admit it. Then cut back as needed schedule relaxation time. Everyone needs some
downtime to stay happy and healthy.
