i think this quote means that whatever is good that it never fails. Like if you do something good it won't bring any trouble or bad consequences to you. And if you do something wrong then it will fail, and bring a lot of problems and consequences your way. Like if you have money and you go buy drugs and drinks its not good and will fail because something bad will probably happen and harm you. It is a true statement.

This quote means that we want everything that is wrong to be unpopular and everything that is right to be popular. So everyone that wants to be popular does right stuff to be. They try and make everything that is wrong to be unpopular and everything that people think is cool . And everything that is right and not cool to be popular.
